Debbie lives in Great Asby near Appleby and she joined the Wool Clip in 2012. She was introduced to feltmaking in 1992 while studying City and Guilds patchwork and quilting.
The inspiration for Debbie’s work comes from her everyday surroundings - the changing landscape, flowers, trees and the patterns created in old patchwork quilts.
Recently Debbie has returned to her love of natural dyeing especially indigo. This has opened up the discovery of eco printing using plants and leaves from her garden to capture their prints on fabric mainly wool.
She is now expanding her range by eco printing on to felt vessels, wool scarves, greeting cards and felt eco printed pictures.
She still makes felt landscape pictures, felt bags, corsages, accessories, cards and individual needle felted Herdwick sheep and hares.
Debbie sells a wide range wet felting kits so you can "have a go" yourself - including sheep, landscape and flowers. She also sells needle felting kits for Herdwick sheep, Swaledale sheep and hares.
