Members: Mary Bell
Mary was a founder member of The Wool Clip and she farms angora goats and Herdwick sheep at Crookabeck in Patterdale. The fine mohair fleeces from the goats are spun into a variety of knitting yarns, some natural and some hand dyed and the mohair is also knitted into hard-wearing socks.
The Herdwick sheep provide fleeces for spinning in two natural shades - light from the older sheep and dark from the younger sheep – and, after spinning, some is woven into knee rugs, throws and floor rugs. Mary also trades as Crookabeck Angoras.
