Members of The Wool Clip cooperative will be sharing their skills at a series of monthly workshops this year.
The first will be a Feltmaking workshop with Jan Hicks on Thursday 18 March followed by Machine knitting with Julia Neubauer on Thursday 15 April. Later in the year, subjects will include inkle loom weaving, Tunisian crochet, spinning, making a crochet bag, machine embroidery and knitting lace edging.
"We used to hold workshops in the past," explains June Hall of The Wool Clip, "but last year, with the move into the bigger shop and lots of other things happening, we never put a programme together. As people have become more familiar with The Wool Clip and Woolfest and with the opportunities of online publicity, we're hoping to attract both beginners and experienced crafts people to this year's workshops, whether they want to try something new or to develop their skills and ideas."
All workshops will be held in Millhouse Village Hall (CA7 8HR), just a couple of miles from The Wool Clip shop in Caldbeck. Running from 10am to 4pm, each workshop costs just £25 (plus materials) with tea and coffee provided - bring your own lunch.
For more details on the content of each workshop, materials or tools required (if any), payment details and directions, please contact the shop on 016974 78707 (11am to 4pm).
