Marion Rae

Marion joined the Wool Clip in early 2009. Starting out with a range of handmade felt products, including scarves, bag and shawls, Marion also makes handwoven rugs, wall hangings and soft furnishings and is building a range of upcycled embellished knitwear.

Based in Wigton, Marion was first introduced to wool craft as a child and went on to experiment with a variety of crafts. She began felt making whilst completing an Art and Design course at Carlisle Art College and now experiments with different techniques to create a range of effects and finishes. She also makes traditional all wool rag rugs and cushions as well as weaving wool rugs on a peg loom.

Her latest projects are a range of pure wool coats and jackets, all hand embellished with merino wool, and hand-embellished 100% cashmere sweaters as well as a number of upcycled garments and scarves.
