Chloewalkingboots These Herdwick bootees were knitted by Chloe Randall

Members of The Wool Clip co-operative are contributing to the fundraising for the 25th Anniversary Awards with sales of a selection of specially designed and made items, using a range of wool craft techniques and all of them made from wool.

The items range from various different hats and scarves (knitted, woven and more) to framed pictures, a knitted mouse and a hand-felted tablet case.

"The thing that pulls them all together is the colour palette, which is inspired by a woven landscape that I created last year. This was very much about the blues, greens and purples that are seen in nature. It's been brilliant to see how different members of The Wool Clip co-operative have taken that basic brief and created all sorts of different items."

Weaver and Wool Clip member, Jan Beadle

Prices currently range from £16.50 to £75 and more items, including specially hand-dyed yarn, are still to be added to the range. "The hope is that sales will contribute at least £500 to the 25th Anniversary Awards fund," says Jan, "which will mean that we can fund another two Awards from these proceeds."

A selection of the completed items is currently (February 2026) available to buy from our online shop and there will also be a fuller sales display in the Caldbeck shop when it re-opens on Saturday 14th February after The Wool Clip's winter break.

The colours of Jan's woven landscape are a theme running through each co-operative member's work. She is currently working on a tweed to incorporate these colours too.

Wrist warmers made by Alice Underwood

Alice's wrist warmers combine a couple of the 25th Anniversary colours and are priced at £22.50 online.
