Ruth Strong

Ruth was a founder member of The Wool Clip and has knitted for as long as she can remember. She raises several different breeds of sheep on the family farms and fells near Hesket Newmarket - Herdwick, Shetland, Swaledale and Bluefaced Leicester.

Once her fleeces are spun into yarn, Ruth knits to create sweaters, cardigans, hats, scarves and other small items. She produces knitting kits as well as dyeing wool and occasionally selling raw fleeces. Her inspiration comes from the beautiful Cumbrian countryside surrounding her home farm.
